Overview

ParFin ("we", "our", "the app") is a financial market tracking application developed by DigiLabs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address
  • Full name
  • Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
  • Authentication provider (Google, Apple, or email)

Profile Information

  • Profile photo (optional, uploaded via Imgur)
  • Display name

Device Information

  • Push notification tokens (for sending notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
  • Approximate geolocation (country-level, for default market selection)
  • Device type and operating system

Camera and Photo Library

  • Camera access (used to take a profile photo directly from the app)
  • Photo library access (used to select a profile photo from your gallery)

Camera and photo library permissions are only requested when you choose to set or update your profile photo. We do not access your camera or photo library for any other purpose. Photos are uploaded to Imgur for hosting.

Usage Data

  • Watchlist preferences (stored locally on your device)
  • Theme and language preferences (stored locally on your device)
  • Selected country/market preferences

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Financial account information or banking credentials
  • Trading or brokerage data
  • Precise GPS location
  • Contact lists or phone data
  • Browsing history

How We Use Your Information

  • Authentication: To create and manage your account
  • Profile Photo: To allow you to personalize your profile using your camera or photo library
  • Notifications: To send push notifications you opt into
  • Personalization: To display relevant market data based on your country preference
  • Communication: To send account-related emails (verification, password reset)

Data Storage and Security

  • Account data is stored on secure servers with PostgreSQL database
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
  • Authentication uses JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with 7-day expiration
  • Local preferences (watchlists, theme, language) are stored on your device using encrypted storage (Expo SecureStore)
  • All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption

Data Retention

  • Your account data is retained as long as your account is active
  • You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us
  • Local device data is removed when you uninstall the app

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Opt out of push notifications
  • Revoke camera and photo library permissions at any time through your device settings

Account Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data, please send an email to furkanprlk0@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your ParFin account. We will process your request and permanently delete your data within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

ParFin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
